When production got going again after World War II, most of Britain's cars were intended for overseas markets.

The brochure tells us that "driving comfort and ease of control are features of the Standard Vanguard. The lever for the three-speed synchromesh gearbox is placed on the steering column" which was very modern at the time
1948 Standard Vanguard boot
The boot is billed as spacious (14 cubic feet). The spare wheen and tool kit are neatly enclosed in a separate compartment. The spring balanced boot lid covers both compartments.
