The new Opel Olympia Rekord was larger than its predecessor and had a slightly more powerful 1.5 litre engine.

The Ponton body style was introduced in 1953 as the sucessor to the 170 series. It lasted until 1961 when the Fintail took over.
Lancia Appia
The Lancia Appia arrived on the market in 1953. Production lasted until 1959. As with other Lancia models, the Appia had no central pillar.
Pathfinder 1953-1957
The pathfinder looked thoroughly modern: full-width bodywork with wide, one-piece windscreen.

The interior was roomy, with seats for 6. An unsual feature of this car is the position of the gearlever: on the floor, to the right of the driver.

The Phase 6 was introduced in 1953. The grille was now oval-shaped. This was the 21st anniversary of the Hillman Minx.
